AI vs. Professional Photography

Featuring Cheryl Goodman of findgood.tech

There's this term "uncanny valley" which I love because it describes something being "off" and one can't put their finger on it ! This is most AI- derived work -it has a weirdness that can't be named.  You solved that with your amazing photographic skills” - Cheryl Goodman

As a tech-centric entrepreneur, before coming to us, Cheryl seriously considered AI photography for her marketing headshots. She sent us the results, and honestly, they weren’t bad! But, as far as AI technology has come, these headshots still weren’t quite… human. There really isn’t another way to explain it. The results are beautiful, but they were simply lacking a general sense of humanness. So Cheryl reached out to us! We collaborated about her brand, discussed what she loved about these AI generated images, and how she wanted to stand out in her industry and uniquely position herself as the expert that she is.

About Cheryl:

From findgood.tech

“As a current contributing author on technology, and a  former broadcast journalist  and technology executive at Sony Global, Qualcomm, LindowsOS & Mp3com, I’m expert at curating the conversation around polarizing tech where privacy and public perception intersect. Having done this for ~20 plus years, my superpower is distilling complex concepts to the consumer – driving not just clarity on how tech works, but why they should care.

In this capacity, I’ve launched 100’s of B2B, B2C technologies in AI, display (mirasol), robotics (aibo), open source (LindowsOS), smartphones (too many) , dumbphones, smart TVs ( Bravia), blockchain encrypted phones and a range of IoT sensor (Gimbal) enabled devices, battery tech solutions, visual and audio consumer electronics and software products.

In Fall of 2023, I’ll be publishing a book on practical AI addressing utility in creative disciplines, strategies for the inevitable displaced worker and commentary from leading authorities about the patterns of disruptive technologies.”

What Cheryl needed:

Cheryl needed headshots for her website and various press features. As someone who frequently writes for publications like Forbes, she was in need of photography that she felt confident featuring alongside these articles. She also needed photos of herself for her website and profile pictures for her various social media channels.

About the shoot:

We shot on location at Hera Hub La Jolla. Additional services included professional makeup by Chelsea Mar Beauty and high-end retouching.

Cheryl needed a polished, highly professional look that was also extremely feminine. Because of this, we utilized the beautiful landscaping outside of Hera Hub La Jolla, while also incorporating a little bit of flash to keep the look corporate and professional.

The Results!
